Global Contrasts

The mysterious Chinese Empress keeps watch over her domain in this living/dining room area. She highly approves of the cool elements and neutral tones contrasting the highlights of rich red-orange accents. She watches the play of rich dark wood and cool metal. Her wise discerning eye evaluates the stylish sculpture and gives nod to the successful melding of contrasting styles.

Neutral Territory

You and your partner have divergent tastes. You love to follow color trends. How do you find common ground you will both enjoy? Creating a practical, ageless design is key. Lynn Morris presents a backdrop of neutral colors, adding accent pieces to create the style. Tone-on-tone fabrics, use of textures, and solid color floor and wall treatments set the stage. Transitional furniture with classic lines accommodates a broad range of accent pieces. Dark pieces against a neutral palette impart sophistication and elegance. Personal collectibles and artwork showcase each partner’s individuality. Update color accents inexpensively and effortlessly with accessories, pillows, and florals for a new look.

Casual Elegance

The form and placement of the furniture in this richly appointed living area are formal and traditional, but there is nothing stiff or intimidating about it. Textural fabrics and earth-tone accents with interesting art pieces provide warmth and personality, inviting family and guests to take a seat and enjoy themselves. The space is rich in personal living details like the popup television and lovely floral arrangement.

Seaside Sophisticate

The soft teal walls and periwinkle accents in this contemporary bedroom whisper of a home not far from the sea. It’s not a typical beach house, but fresh and sophisticated. The custom upholstered headboard with black-flocked scroll patterned fabric plays off the hand crafted mirrored chest for a unique and very current décor. Yet, the concept is flexible and could easily appeal to traditional taste.

Ecofriendly Design

There is more to this beautiful setting than meets the eye. Who could guess that the smartly appointed sofa and armchair are in their second life, refinished and reupholstered in organic cotton, or that the hardwood coffee table is made of reclaimed wood? The colorful accessories are fair trade items promoting economies of disadvantaged countries. Eclectic, colorful accents in this traditional style retreat demonstrates that being “green” doesn’t have to mean dull and boring, but can be bright and exciting. It’s a matter of conscious choice and you can make it yours.

Business or Pleasure

This lush, elegant office setting is appropriate for home or commercial application. It incorporates both traditional and contemporary elements. The fabric choices are definitely masculine, but the curvilinear lines of the furniture bend toward feminine aesthete. The appointments, from Persian rugs to botanical prints, reflect personal taste and interests. The powder blue and teal wall treatment and picture rail moldings suggest traditional elements with a contemporary interpretation. Serious business is balanced with elegant personal style.
